Arcadia Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Budget SOUND

In early June, the Arcadia City Council approved a $55.7 million general fund budget for the 2015 -2016 fiscal year that begins July 1st.  Projections indicate 2015 -2016 will end with a $5.1 million general fund balance/surplus. The City’s fiscal condition is strong and so superior to most other area cities.

The budget adds two additional police positions and a public works  and maintenance position. The Police Department commands 37 percent of the budget and the Fire Department receives 25 percent.  Property and sales tax revenue are projected to total $24 million plus. Together, police, fire and public works account for 70 percent of the City’s overall $103 million budget. Within the budget reside significant reserve funds for future expenditures in areas such as streets, sewers and water.  The City of Arcadia is increasing services.  Its budget is conservative, sound and forward thinking.

Arcadia residents reside in a very well-run city.
